John Fox
Founder and Chairman
Mr. Fox founded and was President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Markwest Energy Partners, a New York Stock Exchange company, from its inception in 1988 through his retirement in 2009. Markwest was the largest midstream gas company in the Marcellus shale of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Beech Resources, LLC and Kona Mountain Coffee Company, LLC. Before Beech Resources he founded MAK-J Energy, which was an oil and gas operator in the San Juan and DJ Basins in Colorado among others. Prior to Markwest, Mr. Fox was a founder of Western Gas Resources, Inc., formerly listed on the NYSE, and was its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 1972 to 1986. Mr. Fox is currently on the finance committee for the Denver Inner City Parish and the Development Board of Colorado Uplift, the Alliance for Choice in Education, and the First Plymouth Foundation. He was a Founding Director for the USAFA Endowment. Mr. Fox graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from the United States Air Force Academy and was a T-38 Instructor Pilot at Laughlin Air Force Base. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver. He received the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Hall of Fame award in 2009 and the USAFA Distinguished Graduate award in 2018.

Peter Pampalone
Chief Financial Officer
Peter has extensive international and domestic oil and gas experience in capital markets, fund raising, risk management and A&D finance with over twelve years exclusively working as CFO for several private, domestic exploration and production operators. Prior to Beech, Peter was CFO of Boreas Energy and Pine Haven Resources, a private equity-backed operator in the Rocky Mountains and CFO of Transworld Petroleum, an oil and gas operator in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. Peter additionally worked in Piper Jaffrey’s investment banking group and has extensive overseas experience with Price Waterhouse in Eastern Europe, Germany and Russia working in corporate finance and business consulting. Peter holds a BA from the University of the South and an MBA from the University of Michigan Business School.

Troy Robertson
Vice President of Land & Legal
Mr. Robertson joined Beech Resources in 2016 as Vice-President of Land. Prior to joining Beech Resources, he was Director of Land for Marcellus-focused, Inflection Energy LLC. He also served as Director of Land/Legal for Rex Energy, as well as Land Manager for the Appalachia Joint Venture between EXCO Resources and BG Group. Before working in the Appalachian Basin, Mr. Robertson served as Land Manager in the Barnett Shale for Western Production Company. Mr. Robertson has been involved in the oil and gas industry since 2005 and has experience in various basins throughout Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Pennsylvania. Mr. Robertson received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa and is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia. Mr. Robertson served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Gulf War with service in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He is also a graduate of the Executive Innovative Leadership Program at the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business.

Bob Ovitz
Vice President of Operations
Bob has extensive experience in upstream oil and gas operations in conventional onshore and offshore as well as coalbed methane and shale resource plays. Previously Mr. Ovitz was the COO for Rex Energy where for three years he grew production 57% in both the Marcellus and Utica shales. He spent 10 years at Noble Energy as the Senior Operations Manager starting up Noble’s $3.5B joint venture in the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania and West Virginia which launched Noble’s Marcellus presence. Mr. Ovitz held various management, drilling and other engineering and technical roles for Patina Oil and Gas, Questar E&P, Amoco UK and the Amoco Production Company. Bob earned his MBA from the University of Denver and a BSPE from Marietta College in Ohio. He has served as a board member for the Marcellus Shale Coalition, West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association, and the St. Francis University Department of Petroleum Engineering Industry Advisory Board. He continues as an active member of both the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Drilling Engineers where he is a past president of the Denver Chapter.

Michelle Fenton
Corporate Development
Mrs. Fenton joined the Beech team in 2016, providing strategic financial advice on capital and financing structure, asset identification and divestiture and M&A. She has over 20 years of diverse financial management experience. Before her current role, Mrs. Fenton started her own consulting business, serving as a contract CFO for startups. During this time, she worked closely with CEOs to build financial models, raise capital, manage expenses, negotiate contracts, and shape company's overall strategic direction. Mrs. Fenton started her finance career as a stock analyst for Berger Funds. From there, she joined Invesco where she was a Partner and Portfolio Manager of the Invesco Technology Fund – one of the largest in the country.
